Living a gluten free lifestyle is the saving grace in many homes. It provides more comfort and health to those bodies that do not do well with gluten. Giving up gluten does not mean you have to give up your favorite foods. The more knowledge the world finds on gluten intolerances and celiac disease the easier it will be for people needing to make the switch.

One of the parenting struggles of being a busy mom or dad is trying to plan meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every Friday, we will share our weekly recipe round-up of great gluten free and paleo recipes for you and your family. Our hope is that this is helpful in deciding what you want to make for dinner and makes meal planning a little easier for you.

Here are this week’s four fantastic favorite recipes:

Shishito Pepper Stir-Fry

Stir Fry dinners are another go-to with many little ones. Maybe it’s the fun colors and noodles or the taste but does it really matter if your kids are eating a healthy meal without a fuss? Sandi, of Fearless Dining, shared her fun “Shishito Pepper Stir-Fry” recipe. Don’t get pushed away by the peppers because rarely are these pepper spicy. This meal can be spicy or mild and takes roughly 30 minutes to make.

Beef Bourguignon

Emma, of Emma Eats and Explores, shared her  “Beef Bourguignon” recipe. It is a perfect dinner for those in your house that love those meat and potato kind of meals. The amazing mixture of some of the ingredients such as steak, shallots, carrots, mushrooms, and bacon creates a delicious dish. The meal takes approximately three hours to make but can be made in the oven, covered, for longer. This warm dish is filling and comforting for everyone including your little ones.

Paleo Crockpot Soup

Natural Paleo Family featured a guest writer, Kristin Ryals, who shared a recipe for ” Paleo Crockpot Soup”. The soup is incredibly easy to throw together and let cook on the stove. The soup contains ingredients such as chicken, vegetables, and bone broth. This soup takes approximately four hours to make, is full of nutrients, and great for sick days. With school starting, this is a great recipe on hand to help everyone get over any beginning of the school year colds.

Zero-Minute Instant Pot Broccoli

Many children are thrown off by food simply because of the chewing it takes to eat it. Steaming vegetable has been the secret to get your children to eat in many households. Valerie, of One Happy Housewife, shared a truly simple method to her, “Zero-Minute Instant Pot Broccoli”. Using the Instant Pot to steam broccoli is quick, simple, and easy. Broccoli is a great source of nutrients and pairs well with many main dishes such as baked chicken, grilled steak, and even fried fish.

  1. I love that your kids will eat Shishito Peppers!! I have one child who will eat anything, the other is whom I call my “picky one” and she won’t touch them.
