Santa cruz with a toddler dads in the houseSummer is right around the corner which means tons of fun in the sun for many of our families. As we all know tons of sun means extra hungry bellies. In my house, it is the best time to introduce new foods to my little ones, especially if it comes off the grill. Fruits, vegetables, and assorted flavors can bring many fun and delicious meals to your table.

One of the parenting struggles of being a busy mom or dad is trying to plan meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every Friday, we will share our weekly recipe round-up of great gluten free and paleo recipes for you and your family. Our hope is that this is helpful in deciding what you want to make for dinner and makes meal planning a little easier for you.

Here are this week’s four fantastic favorite recipes:

Gluten free recipes

Grilled Fruit Kabobs with a Honey Blue Cheese Dip

Kabobs are a fun way to play with food and Sandi from Fearlessdining.com has a recipe for Grilled Fruit Kabobs with a Honey Blue Cheese Dip. Fruit does not get the credit it deserves. Sure, it pairs so well with cold dishes, desserts, or a quick healthy snack, but what about the main meal? Sandi of FearlessDining.com shared her “Grilled Fruit Kabobs with a Honey Blue Cheese Dip” and it will blow your socks off. This meal takes roughly 15 minutes plus chopping of whatever fruits you choose. The dip is easy and really adds to the kabobs.

Garlic Roasted Cabbage Steaks (Natural Paleo Family)

If you are looking for a meal that is perfectly filling and needs little attention when being cooked then you have got to try Stefani of Natural Paleo Family’s “Garlic Roasted Cabbage Steaks”. The cabbage steak takes a little less than an hour and very few ingredients. The best part of these cabbage steaks is that they pair so well with so many sides and flavors.

SCD Grain-Free Blinis (Emma Eats and Explores)

Many of our families have a variety of members with different diets and lifestyle choices. Finding a dish that fits everyone’s needs can be challenging. Fun little items like Emma of Emma EatsandExplores.com ’ “SCD Grain-Free Blinis” are great for most diets. With as little as five ingredients and 15 minutes, you can have a lovely platter of these fun and delicious Blinis.

Homemade Hummus (One Happy Housewife)

Valerie of OneHappyHousewife.com never fails at sharing flavorful and easy recipes time after time. Today we’d like to share with you her “Homemade Hummus”. The recipe calls for most of the “typical” Hummus recipe items but mixed together is better than the hummus you get from a restaurant. This recipe takes just about 10 minutes and pairs well with gluten free crackers, vegetables, and much more.

We would love to hear which recipe did you enjoy the most. Also what are some of your summer favorite dishes? Happy parenting.
